Winning State-Wide Behavioral Health Contracts…Case Study #4

From 2011 – 2013, Keith Vargo, Managing Director of Vargo Consultants, won four (4) a state-wide behavioral health Electronic Health Record (HER) and Care Coordination contracts for a client.

For more than 2 years, Keith Vargo, co-founder of Vargo Consultants, worked with the CIOs and other senior level executives from the Alabama,  rkansas, Mississippi, and Virginia Departments of Mental Health and Health and Human Services, to promote an EHR and care coordination platform offered by one of the firm’s clients. Through this effort, Mr. Vargo traveled throughout each state to meet with the individual Executive Directors of the various state-run Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities facilities to gain buy-in and to promote the benefits of having all centers on a single, integrated platform. In addition, Mr. Vargo spent countless hours with each center providing consultative services to alleviate concerns about switching systems, conversions and securing the funding required to procure the technology. The result of this work was signed contracts with all four states, resulting in more than $70 million in contract value for the client.
